Part 8 preparation courses are not a mandatory step in the process however, it is highly recommended. There are many courses available to prepare you to challenge the exam. Step 2: Prepare for the OBC Part 8 Licensing Exam By obtaining your BCIN you will be identified on the QuARTS system by MMAH as such. QuARTS is a public registry of all Ontario Building Code (OBC) practitioners and BCIN holders. You will be redirected to the QuARTS system to complete the registration. To register for your BCIN which is a personal identification number, visit the MMAH website. Should you wish to design systems that another installer will install, there are additional qualifications required for this (notably, passing the Legal Process for Building Officials and Designers exam, and paying the applicable fees). Note that these steps will make you qualified to design and install onsite sewage systems yourself. The following information outlines four steps to becoming a registered (licensed) sewage system installer. Installers must take several steps to be recognized as a registered practitioner in our province.
